We had to play a play-off match against Leicestershire which we won 16-4 so we qualified for the finals for the first time. The top 8 teams shown played at Hatfield University over May Bank Holiday.

The Sussex team was struck by injury with Jess Bennett fracturing her ankle in the first match. However, the team improved match by match but did not manage a win. The team achieved the following results:Lost to Warwickshire 17-3 (they went on to win) Lost to Yorkshire 14-6Drew with Staffs 10 all but lost on points 347-324

ICT 2011 Results

 

40 Counties sent teams to Nottingham University for a 4 day team event.
 
The first round is in groups of 4. The U17 team achieved the following results:Beat Northumberland 8-2Beat Wiltshire 10-0Lost to Hertfordshire 6-4

This placed us in the top half for the second round, which was tough as we had two seeds in our group. The results for the Sussex in this group were as follows: Lost to Bucks 9-1 (the eventual winners)Lost to Yorkshire 8-2 Lost to Essex 6-4.Beat Durham 6-4 (who had National Champion Holly Smith in their team)

This placed us in a group playing for 13-16th place. In this group the Team played very well to achieve the following results:Beat Leinster (Ireland) 7-3Beat Avon 7-3Beat Staffs 6-4

This meant that Sussex finished 13th overall, which is our highest-placed finish for the last 5 years. A great achievement for all of the participants.
